Hi. This morning I noticed my McAfee real time scanner would not stay on. When I enabled it, it would disable by itself. There was a recent update to the McAfee software, but the problem only occurred this morning (8/14/2015). The only change that I remember making to the computer was updating the NVIDIA Geforce Graphics drivers for Windows 10 overnight last night. This morning I also saw an icon on my computer for the 3D Vision Photo Viewer that was not there before. I went in control panel to see what was installed yesterday. A lot of NVIDIA files were installed, including 3D. I assume that is what the icon is from. Did the NVIDIA come with some form of malware? When I download images or any .exe file onto my computer, I always scan it with the VirusTotal add-on for Waterfox first. My computer runs scheduled scans, and I have the paid version of McAfee Security Center and I also have McAfee Web Advisor. My specs: Windows 10 Home Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3450 CPU @ 3.10 GHz 3.10GHz Installed memory (RAM): 8.00 GB (7.90 GB usable) 64-bit Operating System, x64-based processor No pen or touch input display.
My graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce GT 640; Integrated RAMDAC; Full Display Device; 5015MB; 1920x1080 (32 bit) (60Hz) <--- why does it say 32 bit here if i have 64 bit OS and processor?
I have ran Malware Bytes Anti-Malware in normal mode with no results. I am currently running Super Anti Spyware in normal mode. My next options will be to run both of them in safe mode. If I do not get results after that, I am unsure what to do. I just want my McAfee working like normal again. Please help if you can!
Thank you so much,
Paige
